Ein Buch macht noch keinen Paddler, vor allem keinen Seekajakfahrer.

	Axel Bark Sportküstenschifferschein und Sportbootführerschein See Kein Zweifel, dass ein gebundenes Buch mit farbigen Abbildungen und einem reichhaltigen Index ein wertvolles Nachschlagwerk darstellt. Hier sind viele der Aspekte angesprochen, die auch in der Ausbildungsmappe zu finden sind. Da das Kajakspezifische Wissen der SaU Ausbildungsmappe fehlt, kann es trotz seiner bequemen Aufmachung und Qualität die Mappe nur ergänzen und nicht ersetzen.

While many authors only spend a chapter on the topic of kayak navigation, David Burch showes, that there is much sense in going a little deeper. Relying on those chapters in other books might turn out to be misleading and therefore dangerous. Here you can find a really complete discussion of kayak navigation. Strongly recommended!
	John Dowd Sea Kayaking If You are looking for Your one and only Book on sea kayaking, let me recommend this one. John Dowd gives a broad insight in many aspects of the sport, taking You by the hand while he lets You share his large amount of experience. There are not too many pictures, indeed one might whish there were some more photographs, but the text is all plausible and the best way to avoid problems seems to be as simple as to take John Dowd´s advice. The chapter on eskimo rolling has not been written for beginners, who will find plenty of more detailed descriptions of that topic. However, the advanced paddler should take a closer look on what the author has to say about commonly tought rescue techniques. This book might change the way, sea kayakers think about them.
	Paul Dutky Sicher Eskimotieren Spielbootfahren und Rodeo Die Übersetzung von "Bombproof Roll". Die ausführliche Beschreibung verschiedener Übungen und Lerntechniken sollte es jedem ermöglichen, eine der Rolltechniken zu erlernen. Der Spielboot-Teil richtet sich an fortgeschrittene Paddler, die solch ausführliche Texte nicht mehr benötigen dürften. An deren Stelle hätten die wichtigsten Fahr- und Stütztechniken besser gepasst. Dennoch ein gutes Buch für Autodidakten.
	Nigel Foster Seekajak Ein unspektakuläres Buch über das Seekajakfahren, das alle wichtigen Aspekte des Sportes anspricht. Nigel Foster konzentriert sich auf das wesentliche und verirrt sich nicht in das Gebiet waghalsiger Spekulationen. Ein grundsolides, insbesondere für Tandemfahrer sehr empfehlenswertes Buch für den Einstieg in das Seekajakfahren.
	Jürgen Gerlach Der Kajak Ein sehr umfassendes Kajak-Lehrbuch, das vom Wildwasser über das Seekajakfahren bis hin zum Kanurodeo viele Aspekte anspricht und die grundlegenden Fahr-, Stütz- und Rettungstechniken erläutert (viele Photos und Abbildungen). Ein gutes Buch für Einsteiger, aber sicher kein Nachschlagwerk für Experten in den jeweiligen Spezialgebieten.
	Derek C. Hutchinson The complete book of sea Kayaking A very complete Book on Sea Kayayking, indeed. Derek C. Hutchinson discribes many aspects of the sport. Some statements will not be found anywhere else, some are a little bit outdated, some descriptions i can´t agree with. This book, though very rich, is not the first choice for an unexperianced beginner. Experts will find things, they have never thought of before.
	Derek C. Hutchinson Expedition Kayaking This Book is one of the best reasons for ignoring the complete book of sea kayaking. A rich collection of experiances and aspects of sea kayaking beeing completed by the inevitable sections dealing with basic techniques. Derek C. Hutchinson shares a great deal of experiance in expedition kayaking. Sometimes one might feel he is an experienced story teller as well.
	Derek C. Hutchinson Eskimo Rolling Now i know, why i have lost two pairs of sunglasses while rolling. Derek C. Hutchinson gives lots of examples of rolling techniques and anekdotes by experianced Paddlers. Rolling techniques for Tandem Kayaks are missing, and will i have to loose coins and keys as well?
	John Lull Sea Kayaking Safety & Rescue Probably the "safest" Book on Sea Kayak Safety in the market. John Lull points out the aspects of seamanship. Nothing is dangerous or harmless by itself. Safety depends on if and how You can handle specific situations with Your equipement and skills. Strongly recommended!
